    • ‘turushuqui’, species of dark-colored catfish-like fish that reaches some 1m in length, that is rare in the Pintuyacu River basin, and not particularly prized, due its flesh having a peculiar musty flavor. Its mouth is reminiscent of the sucker mouths of ‘carachama’, and it has a single line of short, sharp spurs, running longitudinally down the center of each side of its body, and a pair of long, hard spurs by each pectoral fin
