the plant named bacuella gui'xhi grows a long scape when it (the scape) is large, people cut it down they cut it and split it in two halves the inside is cleaned, the pith is removed and it (the scape) is air dried once it is dry, candles are placed inside and (the two halves are) tied, to keep the candles from splitting when people go on pilgrimage to Esquipulas, they hang it (the scape with the candle) on their backs. that's what the scape is used for, the candles are put inside it and it is used for transport, to take the candles along, to care for the candles so that they don't break that's what the scape of the bacuella gui'xhi is used for
