In fact, it can cause constipation and even death if cattle eat it without plenty of water. Some people refer to this plant in Spanish as <quelite> or <mata buey> (lit. bull killer), though the latter term is also documented as the name of the tree referred to in Zapotec by the borrowed name <matabuey>.
