La Ventosa Diidxazá Lexico-Botanical Dictionary: Example 298
Word senses:
xcuaana' biichi
Name for two vine species of the Hippocrateaceae family. These vines produce a dry fruit composed of three parts distributed in a clover shape. The seeds are used in the preparation of a hair rinse that women apply to their hair to give it a pleasant fragrance. It is made by grinding the seeds together with the bulbs of the <sapandu> herb and adding water to make a pasty substance. The flowers bloom during the rainy season, but the seeds are collected during the dry season. Despite the name, the fruit of this vine is not believed to prevent or get rid of lice.
