  • aamúuni   pound or pulp certain plants in order that they be usable, e.g., <tatɨɨ> (‘cashapona’) palm trunks, which must be pounded so that the exterior part splits up into laths that can be used for floors or walls; or <miríjaaja> (‘mishquipanga’) fruits, which must be pounded to split them and remove their seeds; or <nuúruu> (‘barbasco’), which must be pulped to release its fish-incapacitating fluid
Iiti=ji pɨɨ́ pɨ=nuúruu aámuu, nu=iwáani=íira naami iwatáani=iíkuma.
From here we will pound our barbasco, so that it arrives downriver in the sacarita.
