    • Comment <ahe> 'recognising' seems to be cognate with the verb <ahe> 'count'. As it only occurs in the modifier position after the head of the verb complex, it is classified as an adverb.

        Eara repaa kasi, are kasi antee, beara kasi ahe komana nae.
        Then we will dig, we will dig, until we recognise its belly. (i.e. the belly of the haopi wrasse)
