  The adverb <maa> 'here, hither' hosts the enclitic 1st person inclusive plural imperfective aspect marker.

  • • Example 1830:
      

      Na tahi iana tamuana maari, beara haha maara.

      They always spear fish, while we come back home empty-handed.

    • Example 3352:
      

      Eara na nuke maara a paka miimiana, eara repaa mono ee bona kiikiono.

      We pick the leaves of the miimiana palm and then wrap the kiikiono (a dish made of mashed galip nuts and manioc) in them.
